TECH UPDATE FOR ANIMAL ENGINES FOR TUNICA RACE

!!!!TUNICA TECH UPDATE
ENGINE SEALING!!!!
This year we are going to be using wire seals to seal
the engines for tech purposes. This will require that
all engines have the following bolts drilled to accept
the wire seals.
FLAT HEADS: 3 Bolts to be drilled
Rear center Head Bolt
Top Carb Mount Bolt
One Front Side Cover Bolt
ANIMAL ENGINES: 4 Bolts to be drilled
One Valve Cover Bolt Intake Side
One Intake to Block Bolt
One Carb to Intake Bolt
One Front Side Cover Bolt
By doing this we feel this is a much more effective way
to seal the engines. Our main desire is to make sure all
competitors engines are sealed and remain that way
through qualifying and racing.
We know time is getting short but a lot of engines out
there already have bolts drilled like this. Please pass
this information along if you can.

After further testing and discussions with different
engine builders and racers that with all the different
sizes and lengths of pulse hose lines that are now being
tried they have decided to put a rule in place to
control the length and size that can be run on all pulse
lines. With this we are just trying to keep the flat
head and animal as even as possible.
EFFECTIVE AS OF TODAY FOR TUNICA RACE THE RULE FOR PULSE
LINES AND SIZE TO FUEL PUMP IS:
"IF PULSE FROM INTAKE MANIFOLD LINE NO BIGGER THAN 1/4"
AND NO LONGER THAN 11" TOTAL LENGTH.

A Message From The
Promoter: October 24th - 20007
A great deal of effort has been extended to assure
that the RAPTOR and ANIMAL engines, with restrictions,
can compete equally. Several engine builders
contributed data in this endeavor for which we are
grateful. It is our intention to create a level playing
field that allows both engines to compete equally in any
class. Be assured we will continue to monitor this
issue as evidenced by our latest rule mandating a hose
size and length of the fuel pump pulse line.
Our desire is that competitors can use the engine of
their choice, compete equally and not have to worry
about an engine being forced upon you without your
consideration. As racers ourselves, we understand cost
and competition. Hopefully, our undertaking this
solution will solve the engine situation that currently
exist.
ONE OTHER NOTE: We have always tried to let the
track evolve to it's own surface during the event with
minimum disturbance. However, this year, to assure the
smoothest possible surface for both days, we will, if
necessary, re-grade the track to maintain the best
possible racing surface.
